Abstract
With the outbreak of pandemic most, if not all, institutions turned to teaching online. While for some teachers it was easy to transfer to an online format, for many it became a difficult task to adapt to new format and to find how to use efficiently this new form of teaching. In teaching online we not only have to face the same challenges of teaching in class like how to effectively deliver the material and assure that efficient learning takes place but we also may face many additional challenges like feeling the lack of personal contact and no direct rapport with the student. Also, for some students teaching online may became a challenge, as they are away from the group they may feel alienated, not connected, and discouraged.
In this presentation we will look at some useful educational practices to help remedy these deficiencies in an online format. Based on our experience of teaching math classes online we will look at how to establish our presence online, how to connect with students and assure that they will be engaged and interacting with the instructor and with each other. And we will also present some useful ways how to deliver the material efficiently, how to facilitate the learning, and how to do the testing.
