OEC Forum vows to turn teachers’ voices into win solution for digital learning
Dr Ausanee Thanosawan, Deputy Secretary-General of Education Council, attended on January 26, 2021, the meeting of the Education Council subcommittee in reforming mechanisms and production systems, screening and developing teachers and educational personnel No. 1/2021 together with Professor Emeritus Chanita Rakponmueng, as the chairman, at Sippanont Ketutat Room, 2nd floor, Building 56, Office of the Education Council (OEC).
The third working group of the Education Council Subcommittee in mechanisms and production systems, assessment and development of teachers, administrators and educational personnel had submitted progress report to the Education Council Meeting No. 5/2020 on November 16, 2020. The report focused on the overall teacher productions and development systems and emphasised that all sections must be seriously engaged. Urgent implementations which need immediate attention include teacher database system, the teacher production and development policy committee, and the guidelines for organizing teacher forum for discussion and exchange thought with relevant sectors. After gathering all opinions, the working committee will draft policy recommendations, using most of the information obtained from the Education Council.
Important agendas for OEC Forum which will hold on February 4, 2021, objects to reflect various perspectives and suggestions from teachers of all level of education -- early childhood, primary, secondary, vocational, as well as non-formal and informal learning--- which covers teaching and learning problem, and challenges in digital era.
Obstacles in Teachers and learners’ adaptation to digital education may result in creating Kru Chana [Teacher wins] model to support the digital transformation under the Covid-19 outbreak crisis.
Dr Umnath Vichyanuwat, Secretary-General of Education Council, pay great attention to reflect facts in current situations and ready to provide urgent education policies for accurate and effective teaching.
Moreover, the meeting also extensively discussed the proposals to reform the mechanism and production, screening, and development of teacher e.g. pre-service teacher production and teacher database groundwork. OEC assign a priority to adaptation ways of teaching during the digital transformation that covered three issues; Educational Big Data, Digital Literacy, and Learning and Management Platform. Also, the secondary implementation focus is lifelong learning.
In this regard, OEC has been driving the work in accordance with the policies of the Ministry of Education (MOE) in the fiscal year 2022 under the national reform framework for education. Also, an urgent plan has been frequently prepared to build the production system and the development of teachers and educational personnel, considering as a part of five national reform activities which cause significantly to the people changing (Big Rocks). All sectors are required to cooperate to achieve the common goal.
