OEC Brainstormed for Action Plan for Age-related Manpower Preparation and Development

On February 12, 2020, Dr. Ausanee Thanosawan, Deputy Secretary General of the Education Council presided over the opening ceremony of the Third Workshop on Action Plan for Age-related Manpower Preparation and Development which was held in the southern part of Thailand, at Crystal Hotel Hat Yai, Songkhla Province and welcomed more than 150 participants form all sectors concerned.

Dr. Ausanee Thanosawan reported that the Office of the Education Council (OEC) is responsible for policy and plan recommendations to support national education provision for human resource development. The Action Plan for Age-related Manpower Preparation and Development for Employment (2020-2027) will be originated from the participation of all sectors.  The practitioners at local levels can use this Action Plan as the framework for preparing and developing manpower to be ready for employment. This will lead to development of the life quality in terms of knowledge, skills, and basic competency as well as establishment of mechanism for promoting and supporting manpower preparation and development.

At present, technologies and AI result in huge changes in Thai society. We have to learn how to encourage people in each age group to adapt themselves to the changes in industrial, economic and social sectors. We have to find out how to develop people in each age group for adaptation, creation, and product vision for the current needs. The development of people in each age group is necessary for lifelong learning society. This important event will hopefully acquire opinions and recommendations regarding models, guidelines, and mechanisms for manpower production and development in the area of Songkhla Province which is deemed the economic hub of lower southern part of Thailand. The opinions and recommendations shared in the Workshop will be applied for improve the Draft of Manpower Preparation and Development Plan.
