OEC has announced the 4-year accomplishment, highlighting the new path of Quality Assurance in education system and Credit Bank
On 17th January 2019, Dr. Suphat Champatong, Secretary-General of the Education Council, together with Dr.Watanaporn Ra-ngubtook and Dr. Somsak Donprasit, Deputy Secretaries-General, as well as
the executives from the main education organisations, participated in the public announcement of the 4-year accomplishment (2015-2018) of the Ministry of Education (MOE).
The Secretary-General stated that “there are approximately 13 million students in the education system responsible by the Ministry of Education. The OEC has executed and driven National Education Scheme for the past 4 years constantly as the tangible achievement shown, such as, 1) the new system of Quality Assurance in education system 2) the standard of education institutions approved by the Minister of Education”.
“Moreover, OEC as the secretariat of the Independent Committee for Education Reform (ICER) is now able to proceed the Education Equality Fund Act 2018, which is critically important to diminish education inequality and empower schools”.
He also announced that “OEC has already driven the Supportive System in Experience and Learning or Credit Bank which now is used by many universities. This system gives students an opportunity to drop schooling for work, business or other matters but universities still keep their study credits. Therefore, students do not need to continue a 4-year study at a one goal and can come back to study whenever they are ready.
The Credit Bank offers both formal and online study as well as short courses which could be changed to credits”.
